We had a warm dry autumn, the fifth warmest and fourth driest on record.
The mean maximum temperature was 21.8℃ 71.2℉.
The temperature reached at least 25℃ 77℉ on 24 days, with the hottest being 31.8℃ 89.2℉ in mid March.
However nights were cooler than average.
The highest total rainfall, though only half its historic average, was in the south, and the airport recorded 43.6mm which is less than a third of the historic average.
It was sad to see on the news the terrible storms and flooding in other parts of the world.

The colors in your garden are gorgeous even with the warm and dry weather. As you mentioned we have had much needed rain in Texas and just wish it hadn't all arrived at once.
ReplyDeleteYou get a lot of Fall color in your garden. It is not what I would have expected for your part of the world. Love the red tree.
ReplyDeleteThe red tree is a crepe myrtle, I wish I could remember which one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a map of the zones in Australia. We're in that middle blue zone. The good news is we get good autumn colour and spring bulbs. The bad news is when gardening programs on television accompany a story about an appealing plant with a simple version of the map, more often than not there's that mountainous inland strip saying eek, cold, frost, forget it!

Apparently we're comparable to US zones 8-9.
You have some lovely fall colors there! Today in Nebraska, we may have had a record low high for the day, in the 60s, and it rained lightly most of the day.
