Late March

The salvias, liriopes, crepe myrtles and hebes are still flowering. The pink bottlebrushes are flowering again. And the yellow geum which has had to put up with being moved a few times seems to like its new location and has produced some flowers.

The garden is full of spider webs and it's best to pay attention when walking along narrow paths.

I've left this photo full size so when you click on it you can get a good view of the little leaf house the spider has built in the middle of the web.

Just now I glanced out the window and spied these crimson rosellas visiting the birdbath.

Wasps

A few years ago we had a powder-coated steel patio roof built. We still haven't bought any new garden furniture and there's always work that needs doing outside so we don't spend much time sitting in the shade enjoying the view (if I really want to sit down for now I have a choice of various rocks or retaining walls around the garden).

So it's nice that someone gets to enjoy our patio. Here's a recent picture of the residents.

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

Apparently we've just had our wettest summer in over sixty years after our wettest spring in over thirty years. I'd hoped to get more work done in the garden but the almost perpetually boggy state of the soil hindered that ambition, though I have to admit the rain has been beneficial to the existing plantings.

For this Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day I have Salvia Wendy's Wish, Crepe Myrtles, Liriope and Hebes.
